Selected work

Works

A single, quiet exhibition of the work gathered in one place. Each piece begins with the material, its weight, grain and surface, and grows through slow carving and casting into a form that belongs to the ground it stands on. Read together they trace one conversation carried across stone, cast concrete and steel, and across the public places these works were made for. Click any plate to see the piece at full size.

Made for a place

Most of these pieces are public works, set into parks and walkways where people meet them on an ordinary day. Stone and cast concrete were chosen for the site and the weather as much as the form, so the work ages honestly and belongs a little more to the ground each year.
